What is Paint. Microsoft Paint is a very simple image editing and creation application. Microsoft Paint comes with Windows Operating Systems. It was first introduced in Windows 1.0. It is also known as Paintbrush and Windows Paint . Microsoft Paints files using the BMP file extension. This format uses a range of colors and bits. Microsoft Paint can also open and save files as .GIF, .TIFF . PNG and .JPEG formats.
